EVENT SPOTLIGHT

Canadian Hydrogen Convention 2026

Toyota Motor Corporation is actively pursuing a “hydrogen society” to achieve carbon neutrality by developing a comprehensive hydrogen ecosystem. This includes promoting fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) like the Mirai, commercial trucks, buses, and stationary fuel cell generators, while advancing hydrogen combustion engines and collaborating on infrastructure expansion to produce, transport, and use hydrogen.

Toyota Tsusho is actively expanding its hydrogen business globally, focusing on green hydrogen production, supply chain development, and industrial applications to achieve carbon neutrality. Key projects include onshore wind-powered electrolysis in Japan, biogas-derived hydrogen production in Thailand, and port decarbonization initiatives in the UK and USA.  TTCI did a hydrogen blending trial at TMMC in Woodstock in June of last year, burning a mixture of hydrogen and natural gas in one of the boilers producing steam for the plant.

TTCI joins the Canadian Hydrogen Convention in Edmonton every year as participant, but at the 2026 event, TTCI could present the results of our blending test on center stage and promote the Toyota Tsusho Canada name and our contribution to advancing the hydrogen cause.
